Regional Information:

Mudgee’s Getaway cottages and facilities has become a popular base to tour the Central West of NSW. A drive to Gulgong, Hill End, Dubbo, Bathurst and Orange make an easy days outing. Closer to home there is Mudgee’s famous wineries and local markets on the 1st and 2nd Saturdays of each month. Tours of the Mudgee town-ship, Gulgong, museums, villages and local district are available with prior notice and pick up from the cottage can be arranged. The Field Day site and airport is only five minutes away. Lawn bowls is an easy 3 minute walk from the front door. Mudgee’s beautiful 18 hole golf course and council tennis courts are a few minutes drive from the property. A quarter of an hour by car is the historic town of Gulgong. Gulgong Pioneers Museum is an extensive folk museum commemorating the town’s industrial and social past including the exciting “gold rush days”. Historic buildings include the Henry Lawson Centre with its unique collection of Lawson’s work and the Prince of Wales Opera House built in 1871. Dubbo Zoo is only a one and a half hour drive from Mudgee and makes an excellent day outing. Customised guest services for hire : Half or full day coach tours are available and pick up from Mudgee’s Getaway Cottages can be arranged with prior notice. Tours include Mudgee’s famous wineries, surrounding districts, Hill End, Gulgong Museum, historic buildings and villages, Mudgee Honey Haven, arts, craft and galleries. Natural wonders and scenic beauty abound in the National Parks surrounding Mudgee and are worth a visit for those interested in swamps, wilderness areas, flora, fauna and aboriginal sites. National Parks & Wildlife offer informative pamphlets on wonderful walking trails through the Wollemi National Park, Dunns Swamp, Spoon Gully, Glen Alice and Coolah Tops. For fishing enthusiasts is Windamere Dam, situated on the Cudgegong River is 24 kilometers from Mudgee. Regularly restocked with fish fry, much of the dam’s catch is reportedly made on lures within three metres of the bank. Situated within the shopping centre is a wonderful family fun centre called Bizee Bodz and is ideal for the younger children. Should you require a baby sitter please let me know. The Shire Council swimming pool is located a short walk from the cottages and offers an Olympic size pool, a waist high pool and a pool for toddlers. Mudgee Police Citizens Youth Club, located in Market Street, provides a heated swimming pool, squash courts, climbing wall, exercise room, large running and basketball area. Inclusions : Indoor and outdoor games and barbecues are all supplied for your enjoyment at each of the homes and cottages. Golfers bring your clubs and practice your swing on the many acres of manicured lawns. Most homes and cottages have undercover parking cars. All have ample off road parking for cars and buses. Bike riders are welcome to bring their bikes.
